Over and out!

RICHARD Doherty and Anthony Edden, of Shaw, high five after the wicket of Stayley’s overseas amateur Dane Currency.
CRICKET: SUPPORTERS at Little Hey Street were treated to a dramatic tie between Heyside, the hosts, and Saddleworth.
Requiring three runs with three wickets remaining, victory seemed a certainty for the visitors at the start of the final over.
But two wickets for ice-cool Carl Newton and a run-out off the last delivery left the scores level on 220.
Nick Campbell earlier smashed an unbeaten 92 from just 52 balls. This was after Heyside were reduced to 68 for three which included the key wicket of professional Gerrie Snyman for three.
The fall of the Namibian to Tom Avery put Saddleworth in the box seat in the third versus fourth clash.
But Campbell’s rapid knock — he struck nine sixes and seven fours — put the match back in the melting pot.
When Saddleworth were 170 for seven with five overs to go the pendulum had firmly swung Heyside’s way.
Lee Needham had other ideas and blitzed 40 from 15 balls.
The number eight batsman was unable to see his side home, though, as Newton found a way through his defences with the second ball of the final over.
The scores were tied after the fourth delivery.
Staring defeat in the face, seamer Newton then bowled Avery, and when Josh Butler was unable to connect with the last ball of the innings, he decided to go for a single anyway and wicketkeeper James Cummins was on hand to run out Michael Brylowski.
Despite finishing honours even, both teams have made up ground on the top two who did not bowl a ball in anger at Warren Lane.
While all the other matches finished, the fixture between second-placed Glodwick and leaders Bamford Fieldhouse was abandoned.
Following much deliberation, umpires Mike Dunkerley and Pete Lilley decided to call off the game at 2.45pm due to the state of a run-up.
