THIRD-placed Delph will have their eyes firmly focused on the Drakes Huddersfield League Premiership runners-up spot this weekend as they gear up for a potentially-crucial double-header.
After last Sunday’s impressive 45-run victory against Golcar, Grant Jones’s men have two home games this weekend, starting tomorrow when struggling Barkisland are the visitors.
On Sunday, Delph face the team who currently occupy second place in the table – Elland. They are one point out of reach.
Shepley remain the runaway leaders of the division and are close to wrapping up title glory.
Tomorrow’s game at Huddersfield Road gets under way at 1pm, while Sunday’s fixture begins at 12.30pm.
WOODHOUSES have slumped disappointingly in the Lees Brewery Lancashire County League.
Last weekend a thumping from Tameside neighbours Dukinfield saw Woodhouses drop into the bottom half of the table, though tomorrow (12.30pm start) there will be a chance to bounce back when they travel to Thornham.
The Rochdale Road outfit have struggled all season, and currently lie second-bottom in the table having won only four times in 2013.
