CRICKET: THE latest chapter in the Lake Garage CLL Championship title race will take place on Sunday.
Royton and Werneth are locked together at the top of the table, both having already clinched promotion to the Premier Division for 2014.
The two clubs will be desperate to land some silverware so expect a tough, protracted battle for supremacy until the end of the season in three weekends’ time.
On Sunday, Royton entertain second-bottom Ashton, while Werneth face a tricky trip to Monton and Weaste.
Carl Taylor will be hoping to continue his excellent bowling form when his Crompton side entertain Unsworth, while Oldham travel to Radcliffe.
In the Premier Division, Walsden will clinch the title if second-placed Littleborough fail to beat Clifton.
Walsden’s game against Heywood has been postponed because the Crimble team have an LCB Cup semi-final at Northern CC on Merseyside.
Milnrow and Middleton are already relegated from the Premier Division and will be playing Championship cricket alongside Oldham and Crompton next summer.
