Old Boys had better watch out

Non-league football: CHADDERTON will bid to make it four wins in four North-West Counties League First Division games tomorrow when they head north to Barrow to take on Holker Old Boys.
Under new joint-bosses Steve Patterson and Mark Cook, Chadderton are flying at present and, should their form continue, then talk of a potential promotion push later in the season will surely follow.
However, there is no big secret to Chaddy’s success said Patterson, who ended last term as caretaker boss after Paul Buckley was forced to stand down through ill health.
“The players have just carried on from last season,” revealed Patterson.
“I suppose the main thing is that we’ve instilled a bit more belief in the players and told them just how good they are, and that seems to be working.
“We’ve not even started yet, though. There’s plenty more to come from this team.”
The only player who definitely won’t be travelling to Cumbria tomorrow is defender John Rodgers, who is injured.
MOSSLEY are in FA Cup preliminary round action tomorrow at Seel Park when they entertain Northern Counties East League Premier Division high-fliers Worksop Parramore (3pm kick-off).
After four league games without a win, it will prove a welcome distraction for the Lilywhites’ joint-bosses Peter Band and Lloyd Morrison.
“We need a win, because the FA Cup is so important. It can bring in much-needed funds to a club like ours,” said Band.
Band is still striving to strengthen the Mossley squad.
OLDHAM Boro have no fixture tomorrow.
