Saddleworth League- Saturday
HEYSIDE dealt a blow to Glodwick’s hopes of a first Saddleworth and District Cricket League title on Saturday.

After retaining their Twenty20 crown five days’ earlier, the lads from Little Hey Street were determined to maintain their winning streak.

And it was red-hot professional Gerrie Snyman and Nick Campbell, after their heroics with the bat in Monday’s final against Moorside, who again put bat to ball in clinical fashion.

The paid man, from Namibia, struck 90 and his able side-kick 57 in Heyside’s total of 241 all out. Mark Whitehead fared best of the bowlers with six for 38.

Attempting to defend an unbeaten record in the league stretching back to June 22, Glodwick fell short as they were dismissed for 212, of which Franco Lenhardt made a fine 95. Snyman followed up five wickets for 45 runs.
