OLDHAM RL’s preparations for the Kingstone Press Championship One play-offs continued with little fuss as they cruised to a 50-18 friendly victory against a Leigh Academy side at Whitebank.
The tries flowed and injuries were minimal as the Roughyeds played out what will now more than likely be their only warm-up fixture ahead of their first play-off clash at home against either Rochdale or London Skolars on September 15.
Club chairman Chris Hamilton said: “Saturday’s match was a very worthwhile exercise in the end, and the vast majority of the squad players were used.”
