SADDLEWORTH Rangers coach Shane Tupaea has issued a positive message ahead of tomorrow’s National Conference League clash at Hunslet Warriors.
Second-bottom Rangers are in need of a swift turnaround in fortunes if they are to avoid relegation from Division One.
And after surprising third-placed Hunslet at the end of July — Rangers won 23-16 — Tupaea is hoping victory this weekend can inspire a late rush of points.
He said: “I am quietly confident we can stay in the division with the games we’ve got left.
“We’ve beaten Hunslet once this season, so we can do it again.
“We can take confidence from that result. But it is important that we take each match on its merits as we’ve also got Waterhead (third-bottom) and Stanley Rangers (bottom) to play, among others.”
Danny Turner (sprained ankle) and Marlon Miller (hamstring) are missing for Rangers after they suffered injuries in the defeat at Eccles last weekend.
WATERHEAD have a weekend off in Division One of the National Conference League, while OLDHAM ST ANNE’S have completed their fixtures in Division Two.
