REWARDS . . . Jessica Fullalove.
Swimming: OLDHAM’S national youth champion and British top-ranked backstroker Jessica Fullalove has won two medals at the World Junior Championships in Dubai.
The 17-year-old City of Manchester Aquatics ace helped her Great Britain team to a silver medal in the 4x100m medley relay squad which finished just behind Russia, having earlier taken individual bronze in the 100m backstroke.
Fullalove swam the backstroke leg of the relay and with Sophie Taylor, Emma Day and Grace Vertigans secured silver medals for Team GB.
Former Hulme Grammar School pupil Jess, from Royton, said: “I’m so proud. It’s the end of a tough season, but these results set the team up for next year now.”
Mum Suzanne added: “Jess did so well. We didn’t expect her to get one medal, so to get two at the championships was just brilliant.”
Fullalove was part of a 14-strong Great Britain swimming squad in Dubai.
