Ronnie Heffron: local bout
Boxing: HOME-town star Ronnie Heffron will appear on the next professional show at the Oldham Sports Centre on October 5.
The 23-year-old welterweight hopeful will feature high on a bill headed by Ashton ace Jon Kays’ vacant English super-featherweight title tilt against Kevin Hooper.
Fellow Oldhamers Ashley Mayall (light-welterweight), Marvin Greaves (welterweight) and Sam Omidi (light-middleweight) will also be in action.
Former ABA champion Heffron is now firmly back on track following the only defeat of his career last November.
Since that Commonwealth title bid against Denton Vassell, Heffron has strolled to two routine points victories. An opponent for Heffron’s 15th pro fight will be announced soon.
