Non-league football: MOSSLEY finally bagged their first victory of the season last night as they edged Padiham 4-3 in the Doodson Cup preliminary round at Seel Park.
But even then the Lilywhites had to graft hard their win after rallying from an early 2-0 deficit.
Danny Broadbent scored a couple, while Lewis Nightingale and sub Callam Gardner wrapped up a hugely welcome success for joint-managers Peter Band and Lloyd Morrison.
They will be hoping for more of the same when Mossley go in search of a first league victory this weekend when they host Ramsbottom United.
CHADDERTON and OLDHAM BORO both conceded five last night as they were dumped out of the Manchester Premier Cup at the first-round stage.
Chadderton were involved in thriller at Irlam. The local lads had led 2-0 at half-time, but they eventually succumbed to a 5-4 defeat.
Boro were comprehensively beaten 5-1 at Glossop North End.
