CRICKET: WERNETH captain Matt Taylor wants his side to ruffle a few feathers in the Lake Garage CLL Premier Division next term.
The Coppice outfit stormed to the Championship title this year following an epic season-long battle with runners-up Royton – who were also promoted – and Taylor clearly won’t be satisfied with mere mid-table stability in 2014.
He said: “I think we’re going to be massive underdogs in the higher division, but I’m not bothered about that.
“I’ve actually heard that some people are writing us off already. They do that at their peril, though.
“I want us to go up and surprise a few people in the Premier Division.
“I think we’re definitely capable of mixing it with some of the big boys; all the lads are really up for it already.”
