Rangers prepare for derby duel

RUGBY: CAN a derby inspire Saddleworth Rangers as they strive to avoid relegation from National Conference League Division One?
The answer comes at 4.15pm tomorrow, with Shane Tupaea’s men welcoming Rochdale Mayfield to Shaw Hall Bank Road (kick-off 2.30pm).
The point of no return is fast approaching for Rangers, who sit second from bottom with four wins from 20 league matches.
They are four points adrift of the two sides above them, one being Waterhead.
Mayfield have plenty to play for with promotion to the top flight still on.
Lying in fourth place, they are within touching distance of Hunslet Warriors and have enough games left to catch second-placed Wigan St Jude’s if results go their way.
A visit to fifth-bottom Dewsbury Celtic offers Mick Whaley’s Waterhead a good opportunity to pick up some much-needed points (kick-off 2.30pm).
Celtic, on the edge of the danger zone, succumbed 42-12 at Milford Marlins last weekend.
Victory for Waterhead would see them move level on points with their hosts.
