Turner goes nap as Hart seal trophy progress

FOOTBALL: ADAM Turner bagged a five-timer as his White Hart side crushed Limeside FC 10-2 in the Midas Plumbing and Heating Oldham Sunday League President’s Trophy first round.

Danny Whittaker (two), Steve Uren (two) and Brendan Flaherty completed Hart’s tally, while Ricky Bleach and Shaun Renshaw replied.

K Zamir scored six times as Coppice United ‘B’ hammered Oldham FC 9-4. Z Yaquob (two) and N Hussain also registered for Coppice, with Michael Murphy (two), Dean Barrow and Marvin Zhakarta hitting Oldham’s consolation goals.

Alt Athletic thumped White House 11-2, while the prolific Niall Sultan netted four times in Failsworth Athletic’s 7-0 success at Limeside Athletic. R Lyndon, B Turnbull and B Bennasconi also pounced for Failsworth.

Legends edged out Rifle Range ‘B’ 2-1 thanks to goals from N Dawson and A Fulham. D Jackman replied.

Coppice United ‘A’ and Trap Inn couldn’t find a goal between them by the end of extra-time, with Coppice eventually progressing 5-4 on penalties.

Famous King George prevailed by the odd goal in three against Saddleworth FC as Daman Schofield and Liam Worthington were on the mark. Luke Shaw netted for Saddleworth.

Daniel Fitzhugh bagged a hat-trick as his Carrion Crow side won 5-2 at Oldham Tigers, while Rifle Range ‘A’s scorers in a 4-2 victory against Royton Athletic were J Jacombs, J Francis, N Eastmond and R Hobin.

The Dog hosted Cartshaft and the game ended 2-2 after extra-time. The visitors sneaked into the second-round after winning the penalty shoot-out 2-1.

Moklisur Rahman netted twice as his Westwood FC outfit beat Springhead Libs ‘B’ 4-3. Abdul Hannan and Nuruz Zamal also scored, with Chris Ebdon (two) and Adam Smith hitting back for the Libs.

Adam Ruddock pounced for a hat-trick in Blue Club’s 4-3 triumph against Manchester Swifts.

A Sutcliffe also registered, with K Boland, K Jackson and K Lockett responding for the Swifts.

D Hodge, A Murdock, R Ollerton, C Franklin and P Kirwan grabbed the goals for Fitton Hill in their 5-2 win at Limeside King George, for whom Martin Gurr and Joe Heap scored.

Jolly Carter had Paul Naylor, Darren Walsh and Ryan Cook to thank for a 3-1 outcome against Dog and Partridge.

Luke Mack was at the double as FC Dynamos beat Kenyon FC 2-0, while Tom Sellars bagged a treble in Crompton Victoria’s 8-2 win against All Stars. Michael McCabe (two), Jon Hall, Carl Dean and John Ryder netted as Victoria ran riot, with Enamul Islam and Azad Miah replying.
