NON-LEAGUE FOOTBALL:
IN-form Mossley scored four goals for the third game on the spin last night.
This time the Lilywhites beat Tameside neighbours Droylsden 4-2 in the Manchester Premier Cup as they got the defence of their trophy underway.
The Bloods’ Dan McLoughlin stunned the Seel Park faithful as he opened the scoring, but Mossley roared back in style as Dougie Carroll (two, one a penalty), Lewis Nightingale and Andy Keogh handed the hosts a commanding 4-1 lead.
BOTH Chadderton and Oldham Boro suffered disastrous defeats in the North-West Counties League First Division.
After a recent run of decent form, Chadderton were crushed 7-1 at home by Nelson.
Matty Russell’s 10th goal of the season provided scant consolation for the Broadway side, who slipped to eighth in the table.
Boro were thumped 4-1 at a Rochdale Town side who had been propping up the table.
Andy Smith scored for the visitors, who dropped to 16th.
