FOOTBALL:
OLDHAM Hulmeians turned in an awesome performance as they crushed hosts Morecambe Gold 8-0 in the first round of the Lancashire Amateur Cup.
Danny Wooliscroft opened the scoring following good work down the right from Danny Proffitt.
Nathan Tayo then cheekily chipped home a penalty, before Reece Hursthouse scored his first goal for the Maroons on the half-hour mark, following up Proffitt’s saved effort.
Hulmeians were rampant in the second period as further goals from Matthew Binns (two), Proffitt (two) and Daniel Dunn wrapped up a stunning victory.
Hulmeians’ reward for their efforts is an away trip to LAL Premier Division outfit Little Lever in the next round.
It’s derby day tomorrow as Hulmeians host Chaddertonians in the league.
