OLDHAM made it two wins out of two in the Lancashire GMC Super Eights Elite League with a 6-4 victory over Bury.
Mark McGeeney got the town team off to the perfect start with a 4-1 win in the opening clash.
The England star was in great form, averaging 96.96 a throw.
The hosts levelled before wins from Paul Cartwright - who recently notched a nine-dart finish - and Dave Airey put Oldham into a 3-1 lead.
Cartwright, who averaged 93.1, checked out on 161 in a 4-1 success, while Airey (83.32) triumphed 4-2.
Bury pulled one back, only for Andy Pearson to reassert Oldham’s authority with a 4-2 win (79.23).
Dave Rawstron’s 4-0 victory — he recorded a 120 finish and averaged 91.13 — was on hot on the heels of Bury’s third win of the afternoon.
But the home side clinched game nine, to leave the reigning champions holding a slender 5-4 lead.
Ian Walters kept his cool to register a 4-0 success, which featured a 126 check-out and an average of 76.73.
PAUL Cartwright skippers Lancashire against Cambridgeshire this weekend, in a team that features.
