RUGBY:
FRESH from winning the North-West Men’s League Division Three title, Oldham St Anne’s ‘A’ are on course to win the play-offs.
Paul Deakin’s side destroyed their Rochdale Mayfield counterparts 60-10 at Higginshaw Road to set-up a final clash against Blackbrook on Saturday week.
Mayfield grabbed the early initiative when Jake Johnstone crashed over the line in the first set of the match, then increased their lead to 10-0 midway through the first half.
But Saints rolled up their sleeves and dominated the remainder of the game.
Saints meet Blackbrook, who had a walkover against Widnes West Bank in the other semi-final, at Wigan St Patrick’s on October 12 (kick-off 1.30pm).
