Red-hot Hall routs rivals off ‘flyer’ peg
Date published: 04 October 2013
Angling: STEVE Hall has enjoyed many wins and placings this year on local waters.
And he was again to the fore in the latest Medlock Bridge AC open.
Drawn on the Park Lake’s flyer peg eight, Hall opted for the pole, chopped worm and caster at 13 metres. He attracted skimmers to 1lb 8oz, chub, roach and plenty of small perch for a match-winning 18lb 15oz.
Former Drakes float squadman Tony Simcock showed that he is not just a force on canals as he weighed in 10lb of chub, small perch and a 2lb 8oz bream on maggot at 11 metres off peg seven.
WEIGHTS were good in the latest Todmorden AS members-only match on Townhouse with the top five tipping at least 15lb on to the scales.
Dave Nightingale secured first place with 33lb 2oz, while Mick Clegg was second with another pole-tempted net of 25lb 3oz, which included carp.
THE Saddleworth and District Angling Society (SADAS) is staging a members-only match on Eagle Mill Dam on Sunday.
The draw is at 8.30am, with fishing 9.30am to 2.30pm. To book, contact Dave on 07505 356870.

Bardsley Canal: Day tickets on the bank.
Alexandra Park Lake: Day tickets on the bank. Fished okay at the weekend with plenty of silvers feeding. Maggot, caster and chopped worm all catching.
Hollingworth Lake: Some good bream feeding but not many fishing this exposed water. Standard feeder tactics. Red maggot or worm on the hook will attract plenty of small roach, perch and bream. Day tickets £5.
Tanners Dam: Diggle AC members-only. Great fishing on this water. Full of skimmers, roach, perch and carp that feed on almost anything. Pleasure anglers catching double figures.
