HOCKEY:
A STRONG Oldham side opened their season with a 3-2 win away to Crewe in the North Hockey Division Two South-West.
The women twice came from behind, thanks to a stunning brace from Karen Rowley, before sealing their win in the second half with a great strike from Louise Howard.
Oldham play host to Wilmslow on Saturday at their new home ground at Newman College (kick-off 2.30pm).
Buoyed by their 4-0 win against Stockport, Oldham’s third XI maintained their 100-per-cent start to the season in a close contest against rivals Glossop Ladies seconds.
