FOOTBALL: THE Lancashire and Cheshire League Premier Division’s top two increased their lead with wins away from home.
Top guns AFC Oldham built on an early goal from Ryan Fagan to register a 3-1 win at Chorltonians which kept the home team in the bottom two.
Newton bounced back from last week’s shock Rhodes Cup defeat by Santos with a hard-earned 2-1 win at Old Stretfordians to stay four points behind AFC Oldham.
In Division One, Parrs Wood Celtic despatched promotion rivals Moorside Rangers 4-0.
After two great cup wins, Santos lost 4-3 to Newton Heath on their return to league action.
