Springbank shock Tonge in final

BOWLS: SPRINGBANK capped a tremendous season with victory in the Greater Manchester Bowling Association’s Premier Cup, played in Openshaw.
The recently-crowned Chadderton League ‘A’ Division champions beat Hopwood by seven chalks in the semi-finals, and followed that with a 14-points defeat of hot favourites Tonge in the final.
Tonge had seen off the challenge of North Chadderton in their semi-final.
