Steven’s ace is the icing on the cake

GOLF:

STEVEN Pass won the Veterans’ Trophy, a major at Crompton and Royton, with a score of 83-17-66 which included a hole-in-one at the 16th.

Runner-up was Alan Whetham (90-18-72), while the lowest gross score was John Osbaldeston’s 83.

A subsidiary medal went to David Norbury (76-4-72). on the card, against Lee Conway (78-6-72).
