Sultan swings it for Athletic

FOOTBALL: NIALL Sultan showed again why he is one of the hottest properties in local football as he shone for Failsworth Athletic in the Midas Heating and Plumbing Supplies Oldham Sunday League’s Jack Abbott Premier Division.

Striker Sultan – who plays for Chadderton in the North-West Counties League First Division on Saturdays – bagged a hat-trick as Athletic beat Coppice United ‘A’ 4-2.

Adam Berrisford also netted for Athletic, while Steve Barrow and Yasar Ali replied.

Ryan Shaughnessy and Liam Worthington both scored twice in Famous King George’s 6-1 victory against Fitton Hill.

Neil Hindley and Ash Ainsworth also registered for the victors, with Ashley Browne bagging Fitton Hill’s consolation.

D O’Connell (three) and A Williams scored for Crompton House Old Boys as they triumphed 4-2 at Legends Athletic, for whom N Dawson and D Simms registered.

Rifle Range ‘A’ and Limeside King George shared six goals in a thrilling clash.

Leighton Stephenson, Ryan Fagan and Jermaine Steele scored for the hosts, with Andrew Stafford (two) and Will Buckley bagging for King George.

Adam Ruddock (two), Adam Sutcliffe and Sam Leigh scored for Blue Club as they won 4-3 at Westwood.

The hosts’ goals came from Moklisur Rahman (two) and Iqbal Alam.

Callum Beckett was on target twice as Carrion Crow won 3-2 in their David Giblin Division One clash at The Kenyon.

Scott Edge also scored, while Gavin Sewart and Shaun Schofield struck for Kenyon.

The prolific Luke Mack swooped for a hat-trick to help his FC Dynamos side to a 5-4 win at Springhead Libs ‘A’.

John Line and Zak Lees completed Dynamos’ tally, with Daniel Gordon, Scott Ashton, Aaron Kay and Andrew Simpson striking back for the Libs.

In Martin Buckley Division Two, Enamul Islam was All Star’s hat-trick hero in a 4-2 success against Trap Inn.

Imranul Islam also scored, while Michael Chadderton and Johnny Lambert bagged for Trap Inn.

Kamran Zamir and Nawaz Husain grabbed the all-important goals as Coppice United ‘B’ edged out Albion 2-1. Danny Whitehouse replied.

Tom Evans scored three times as Limeside FC beat Alt Athletic 4-3 in the Third Division.

Graham Asplin also registered for Limeside, with Liam Tupman (two) and Curtis Norris striking Alt’s goals.
