NON-LEAGUE FOOTBALL: MOSSLEY joint-manager Peter Band has demanded that his side quickly get back on track tomorrow against Lancaster City in the FA Trophy’s first qualifying round.

The previously in-form Lilywhites disappointed on when they lost 1-0 to basement outfit Ossett Albion.

Band said: “We didn’t turn up on Wednesday. It was a poor performance. We had one or two lads missing but the players certainly didn’t take their opportunities. The players know we need a response.”

Mossley are set to face Lancaster twice in three days: the fixture is repeated in the league on Tuesday night.

Kyle McGonigle is still out through suspension, while Tom Pratt and Lewis Nightingale are ruled out with injuries.

CHADDERTON head towards the unknown tomorrow when they welcome Athersley Recreation in the FA Carlsberg Vase first round.

Having disposed of North-West Counties League rivals Alsager Town in the preliminary round, Chadderton now look set to face a tough tie against a side from the Northern Counties East League Premier Division.

Chaddy joint-manager Mark Cook said: “We’ve only really read about Athersley on the internet, but they’re flying high in the equivalent of the division above us so it’s going to be tough. We’ve trained well this week, though, so there’s nothing for us to fear.”

OLDHAM BORO – fresh from Monday’s first victory since August – are in North-West Counties First Division action at Formby.
