DARTS: Reigning BDO world champion Scott Waites met his match at Crompton Conservative Club.
Waites was challenged by 16 players to raise money for Help For Heroes — and over one leg of 701, Oldham ace Carl Sneyd claimed the scalp of the Halifax man.
That was the only defeat suffered by Waites, who also faced Sneyd’s Oldham team-mate and England international Mark McGeeney.
The town side are at home to Blackburn on Sunday in their latest Lancashire GMC Super Eights Elite League clash. The action at Crompton Conservative Club, Queen Street, gets under way at 12.45pm.
