Non-league football:
A GOAL in each half from Northwich Victoria’s Alex Taylor dumped 10-man Mossley out of the FA Trophy at the second qualifying round stage.
The Lilywhites, who saw defender Phil Drummond shown a red-card for the second successive game in the second-half, went down to goals from Taylor in the 36th and 74th minutes.
Meanwhile, the Lilywhites have been hit by the departure of versatile midfielder Charlie Anderson, who has been lured to Skrill Conference Premier outfit Chester after a string of impressive performances at Seel Park.
Anderson, the son of former Nottingham Forest, Manchester United and England defender Viv, made 15 appearances for Mossley since joining the club from Winsford United in the summer.
Mossley return to Evo-Stik Division One North action tomorrow night when they host Prescot Cables (7.45pm kick-off).
OLDHAM BORO were pegged back twice as they drew 2-2 at home against Northwich Flixton Villa in the North-West Counties First Division.
Jack Keighley fired Boro into a 10th-minute lead, only for Villa’s Steven Owens to level matters just before the half-hour mark.
Lukiano De Costa restored Boro’s advantage and they went into the break 2-1 up.
Just 12 minutes were left on the clock when Villa rounded off the scoring as Aboubacar Sanongo earned his side a point.
CHADDERTON’S scheduled home league fixture against AFC Darwen was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch at Broadway. Both Boro and Chadderton return to action next weekend.
