OLDHAM Hulmeians cruised past rock-bottom Thornleigh 6-2 in Division One of the Lancashire Amateur League.
The floodgates opened in the eighth minute when striker Matthew Binns found Steve Delafield and he prodded home.
Delafield struck again soon after as he headed home Ant Williams’ cross.
In between two disallowed goals, Hulmeians struck again in the 25th-minute.
This time winger and man-of-the-match Delafield crossed for Binns who drilled home to make it 3-0.
Thornleigh pulled one back before the interval, but the Maroons had been dominant.
It was 4-1 when Binns grabbed his second goal following further good work from the rapid Delafield.
Williams then latched on to Danny Pauley’s sweeping pass before turning neatly and firing home.
A Thornleigh penalty reduced the arrears, before Hulmeians completed the rout with 10 minutes to go – also from the spot – courtesy of Jordan Schofield.
