Visitors too strong for gutsy Hollinwood
Date published: 15 November 2013
MISSING four first-choice players, Hollinwood succumbed 30-0 at home to Crofton in Division Five of the Pennine League.
The hosts got stuck in with some good tackling, but their bigger and more experienced opponents were always in control.
Trailing 16-0 at half-time, Hollinwood continued to play second fiddle in the remaining 40 minutes. However, they deserve credit for refusing to throw in the towel in terrible conditions.
Garforth Tigers are the visitors to Fields New Road on Saturday.
With two wins from nine league games, John Byram’s Hollinwood side will be looking to halt their slide in the standings.
