CHADDERTON’S winless run in the North-West Counties League First Division was extended to nine games as they were beaten 2-1 at home by high-flying Atherton Collieries.
It was 1-1 after just eight minutes as Chadderton’s Clive Best equalised an early strike from Colls’ Kieran Halliwell.
It was nine minutes before the end when the visitors stole the points when Gareth Peet struck the winner from the penalty spot.
OLDHAM BORO continue to struggle as they lost 1-0 at home to 1874 Northwich.
Mike Brandon scored the winning goal just five minutes from the end.
