THE mini-revival of Tame Valley’s first team in Division Two Central of the North-West Counties Squash League came to an abrupt halt against their powerful and experienced Cheetham Hill counterparts.
Jamie Maddox (3-0) was the only winner in a disappointing 4-1 reverse.
Valley’s second string made it seven wins in a row when recording a convincing 4-1 victory over Cheetham Hill thirds.
Ray Green, Phil Wells, Nigel Young and John Heston were the successful quartet. The team are now up to second place in Division Four East.
In the same section, Valley’s third team could not match the skills of City of Manchester seconds as they were beaten 3-2. Lee Coverley and Richard Buchannan were the winning duo.
Steve Brannan, Barry Stokes, Dave Wilson and Amanda Maddox were on the mark for the Greenfield club’s fourth team as they swept aside David Lloyd Bolton seconds 4-1 in Division Five North-East.
