Lord laps-up park landmark

ANNE-MARIE Lord marked her 100th park run with victory in the women’s race.

The Oldham and Royton Harrier (pictured) crossed the line in 21:38 in Alexandra Park.

It was Lord’s 70th success in such events, which are held in many towns and cities across the country, and puts her 11th on the nationwide list of wins in women’s races.

In the men’s event, Tony Muir carried on his good form by claiming third place and another new personal best of 19:05.

David Carroll was seventh in 20:06 and Owen Flage posted 20:20.

Meanwhile, Andrew Marsden spearheaded a group of Harriers members at the Age UK Abbey Dash 10k race in Leeds.

He ran an excellent race, posting a personal best time of 36 minutes 56 seconds

Next-best for Harriers was Muir in 39:13, followed by Carroll in 39:47. Both were new best times for the distance.

Pete Williams ran 43:05, with Lord (43:24), Sara Bott (49:01), Lindsey Rudd (54:57) and Julie Luckman (57:45) in behind.

In the South-East Lancashire Cross-Country League races at Heaton Park, Ethan Glasgow Lattibeaudierre was superb in winning the under-13 boys’ race in 13:12.

Jake Holt had a good run in 14:28, with Callum Atkinson (14:41), Harry Collier (14:52) and George Martin (15:01)

following on for the team, who came home first overall.

The under-13 girls were third, thanks to the efforts of Macey Scantlebury in fifth place in 15:27, Sophie Hall (sixth in 15:30) and Rebecca Hall (19:18).

Jordan Hilditch had a good run for eighth spot in the under-15 boys’ category, while Amber Boulton (22:43) was seventh in the girls’ equivalent.

Turning to the under 17s

division, Niamh Boulton ran 22:08 and Rachel Emmott 24:25, while Alex Proctor was seventh boy home in 18:47.

Running in the senior women’s race, Rose Mather was eighth in 31:41, which put her in an excellent first place in the under-20s category.

Pam Hudson crossed the line in 41:30.

In the men’s race, David Smith clocked 44:14 and John Hudson 46:31, which was second in the over-60 age group.
