Hockey:
OLDHAM’S London 2012 Olympic bronze-medallist Nicola White will hope to take her excellent domestic form to the international stage this weekend.
White (25) is in Jason Lee’s England squad which will take part in the prestigious World League Final tournament in Argentina.
Former Slough forward White has been in terrific form for David Mayer’s Leicester side this season, making it on to the scoresheet regularly. The World League Final is being staged in San Miguel de Tucumán in Argentina, between November 30-December 8.
England have been drawn in Pool ‘A’, alongside Olympic champions the Netherlands, European champions Germany and world number eight side, Korea.
On paper England’s biggest threat will come from the Netherlands. Last time they met, England clinched victory in the EuroHockey Championships semi-final.
England open up against Korea on Saturday, before facing the Netherlands 24 hours later and then Germany on Tuesday, December 3.
