MATTHEW Binns bagged a glorious hat-trick as Oldham Hulmeians moved up to third place in Division One of the Lancashire Amateur League with victory over Ainsworth at Tate Street.
Hulmeians, on course for a second consecutive promotion, were made to fight all the way against an older and arguably more experienced side, but Binns added an extra touch of quality that shone through.
The team sought to extend its unbeaten run to nine matches.
But Ainsworth were level close to the hour mark and, despite the pressure that followed from Hulmeians, the home side were unable to convert a string of half-chances.
The breakthrough came after 74 minutes when Binns drilled the ball home from 16 yards.
Ollerton capped a fine start for Hulmeians when he passed the ball for Binns to complete his hat-trick with a clinical finish six minutes before time.
