NON-LEAGUE FOOTBALL:
MOSSLEY slid a place to 11th in Evo-Stik Division One North following a 2-1 home defeat against Darlington 1883.
A sizeable Seel Park crowd looked on as the Quakers raced into a two-goal lead inside the opening quarter-of-an-hour.
Stephen Thompson netted first, then Amar Purewal's strike left the Lilywhites with a mountain to climb.
In the end it was a deficit which proved too much for the hosts to claw back, though they pushed
desperately for a late equaliser after Louis Horne had made it 2-1 with 15 minutes to go.
The Lilywhites are in action at Kendal Town in the league next weekend.
STUTTERING Chadderton slumped to a 3-0 defeat at 1874 Northwich in the North-West Counties League First Division.
The local side faced an uphill battle once Mike Brandon had opened the scoring for Northwich inside the opening minute.
Daley Woods scored before half-time, then Matthew Ward wrapped up a convincing win for the hosts 16 minutes from the end.
The three points lifted the hosts into second place in the table.
OLDHAM BORO didn't play on Saturday, but are in action tonight when they host Atherton LR (7.45pm kick-off).
