OLDHAM’S Nicola White achieved her 100th combined cap as England got their World League Final tournament off to a mixed start in Argentina.
Jason Lee’s squad secured a win against Korea on Saturday, before their second pool match yesterday ended in heartbreaking late defeat against number one ranked team the Netherlands.
White impressed without scoring in the Pool ‘A’ opener victory against Korea.
England won 6-2 in Tucuman thanks to goals from Alex Danson, Lily Owsley (two), Georgie Twigg and captain Kate Walsh (two).
Yesterday, England found themselves 2-1 in front against the Dutch thanks to goals from Twigg and Owsley, only for two late goals from one of the tournament favourites to turn the game on its head.
Leicester forward white and her team-mates will look to get their campaign back on track tomorrow afternoon when their final pool match pits them against Germany.
