THE Lake Garage CLL could have its numbers boosted by as early as 2015.
Delegates at the league’s annual meeting gave the green light to advertise for new clubs — though the decision was close
Initially delegates voted 9-7 to give a proposal by Unsworth the thumbs-up - but league rules say any potential change to the CLL constitution must be carried by two-thirds.
Once confusion was resolved and a second vote taken, the result was 10-5 in favour, with one abstention.
The CLL will now advertise for clubs interested in joining the league. Applicants will need to tell their current leagues by June 30.
The league will be able to accept a maximum of eight new clubs, with the ultimate aim of two divisions of 12. Newcomers will have to start in the second division.
TWO proposals from Norden — one to start league matches at 1pm instead of 1.30pm and the other to restrict bowlers to 15 overs per innings — were defeated.
