Oldham hit the Premier summit

FOOTBALL: AFC OLDHAM took over top spot in the Lancashire and Cheshire League Premier Division after a convincing 4-1 win over previous leaders Old Ashtonians.
An early strike from Will Buckley put Oldham on the victory trail, and they added three more to hit the summit on goal difference and also with three games in hand.
Moston Brook stay in third spot, just a point behind, after picking up a vital point in a 3-3 draw with Rochdalians.
With several games in hand on the top three, reigning champions Whalley Range showed their intent with a 5-1 win over South Manchester.
Hooley Bridge Celtic dropped South into the basement position with a shock 1-0 win at Newton, and Spurley Hey continued their climb up the table with a thrilling 4-3 win over Gorse Hill.
Castleton moved into second spot in Division One following an 11-0 rout of depleted Santos, while there was no change at the top of Division Three with all of the leading teams posting victories.
HEYSIDE secured an impressive 2-1 win at Kirkheaton Rovers in Division Two of the Huddersfield League.
The visitors deservedly led 2-0 at the break thanks to goals from Carl Taylor and Andrew Fulham.
The second period was much closer and a Rovers goal 10 minutes from time ensured a nervy finish, but Heyside hung on for a fine win.
