CHADDERTON Park FC officials are offering someone the opportunity of a lifetime to play alongside one of the greatest-ever midfielders.

Following the overwhelming response to the YouTube clip featuring former Manchester United and England star Paul Scholes scoring for Chadderton Park Legends at North Chadderton School’s small-sided pitch, an auction has opened with the highest bidder winning the chance to play alongside the Saddleworth-based legend in a veterans game.

The auction is for one game, with the highest bidder set to become a temporary team-mate of Scholes.

As of this morning, the highest was £310.
