SNOOKER:
NORTH Chadd ‘B’ have opened a three-point lead in the Oldham Amateur Snooker League.
While they enjoyed a 5-1 win over Deaf ‘B’, title rivals Royton Band were on the wrong end of a 5-1 result at home to North Chadd ‘A’, while Deaf ‘A’ lost 4-2 to Chadderton Reform.
Martin Kennedy's break of 33 was enough to take the final frame for North Chadd ‘B’, which ensured that they stood at the top of the table.
Despite a break of 48, Reece Kershaw was unable to claim his frame for Blue Club ‘A’ against St Paul’s.
However, his side secured a 4-2 victory, even though John Heywood, of St Paul’s, recorded his 14th consecutive victory.
Chadderton Reform remain the team to catch in the cards section after a 3-1 success over Deaf ‘A’.
Second-placed Deaf ‘B’ were held to a 2-2 draw at North Chadd ‘B’.
MOSS Inn and Tara ‘A’ have burst clear in the snooker division of the Saw-Tech Shaw League.
The duo are 14 points in front of third-placed Crompton Cons and it already looks a two-horse race for the title.
While Moss are unbeaten, reigning champions Cricket are bottom of the table, with just one win to their name. In the Tara derby tussle, the ‘A’ team claimed bragging rights courtesy of an emphatic 6-0 scoreline.
