Demolition job seals title joy for Waterloo

BOWLS:

WATERLOO and Taunton retained the Inbev Winter Bowling League ‘A’ Division title at Chadderton Cot with a 10-1 demolition of Hopwood.

Only Dave Murray won for Hopwood, whose hopes of runners-up slot were dealt a savage blow.

Waterloo’s winners were Peter Fielding, Alan Critchlow, Anthony Walker, Ashley Madden, Charlie Roberts, Roy Travis and Chris Heyes.

Nimble Nook were consigned to relegation when they lost 9-2 against Springbank.

And the division’s other relegated side, Vixens, went down 8-3 against Springhead.

Failsworth secured their place in the ‘A’ Division next season when they defeated Prestwich 8-3.

Elsewhere in the ‘B’ Division, there were wins for Barbarians and Shaw Comrades.
