JAMES Cantello (Tri-Cast Highfield) maintained his superb run at Old Hough Fisheries with two wins in two days.

On the Upper Benbo section, Cantello weighed in 38lb 8oz of mostly carp using dobbed-in bread at 16 metres tight to the island.

Team-mate and travelling partner Dave Holland won his section.

On the Lower Benbo 24 hours later, Cantello clinched victory with a 20lb 12oz catch enticed by dobbed-in bread and corn. Second was Alan Jones (19lb 15oz).

DAVE White topped the latest Todmorden AS Silvers match on Townhouse. Opting for the pole and maggot approach, he netted a mixed bag of 7lb 6oz.

Runner-up Simon Newsham used a similar method for another mixed net of 5lb 10oz, while Chris Oliver was third with 5lb 6oz.

A SKIMMER net won the day in the Wigan AA match at Adlington.

Dave Bradley added 15 skimmers to 50 roach on bread punch to emerge victorious with a weight of 8lb 6oz.

Second was Dave Wells (Tri-Cast Rochdale) with a superb net of small roach on bread punch and some better stamp of fish to caster late on for 6lb 8oz.

I caught three early skimmers around 6oz apiece and then tiny roach on bread punch for 3lb 8oz 8drams.

ROUND three of the Mossella Bloodworm League on the Rufford Canal did not go entirely to plan for my Tri-Cast Rochdale team who, with two matches remaining, have their work cut out to make the top three.

The venue fished hard in some places while in others it was good — one section in particular throwing up some cracking weights of bream and skimmer.

Boyden Krupnyckyj (Maver Black) was the winner. He had a 15lb 10oz catch, which included bream to 2lb on the 10-metre pole, bloodworm, bread and caster.

Matthew Forster (Saints) was alongside Krupnyckyj, but fell just short with his 14lb 13oz 8drams netting second on the day.

CHRIS Durrant clinched the carp match on Church Gardens with a massive 123lb 8oz on the slider and pellet.

Employing identical tactics, runner-up Phil Chatterton weighed in 58lb.

The silver match went to Graham Mitchell, with his pole and maggot approach tempting 15lb 14oz of skimmers and roach.

Second-best Ian Cox had a 14lb 15oz net on slider and maggot.

WITH minutes to go and still waiting for his first bite, Tri-Cast Highfield rod Shaun Paddon was about to pack-up in the Northern AA open on the Macclesfield Canal at Poynton.

However, three perch on lobworm catapulted him into first place with a final weight of 6lb. The biggest fish tipped the scales at 3lb.
