Grounds for frustration

RUGBY UNION:
DESPITE the effort of groundsman Alan Hollingsworth, Oldham RUFC’s North Lancashire Division One home fixture against Didsbury Toc H fell victim to the weather.
The game was originally given the go-ahead in the hope the forecast rain would stay away long enough for the game at Manor Park to get underway.
Both teams were warming up when the downpour arrived at 1.30pm, leaving standing water on the pitch.
In the interests of safety, both captains and the referee agreed the match should be postponed.
The game has been rearranged to take place on Saturday, February 22.
