Goal ace Russell’s award

FOOTBALL:

CHADDERTON’S 20-goal midfielder Matty Russell has received his December North-West Counties League First Division player of the month award.

Former Mossley and Curzon Ashton ace Russell (26) bagged five goals during another impressive month.

Chaddy’s joint-boss Mark Cook said: “It was nice to see Matty pick up his award before the game.

“He fully deserves the recognition. He works his socks off out on the pitch and he’s a great lad off it.”
