SADDLEWORTH and Brookdale will play each other in a mouthwatering derby clash in round one of the 2014 MDLGA Bell Cup.
Oldham, including lady-captain Sheila Antrobus (pictured), will host Pike Fold.
Over 80 clubs are hoping to reach finals day in September at Astbury Golf Club, the home club of MDLGA President Eileen Murphy.
Already through to round one, courtesy of byes, are Crompton and Royton, who visit Buxton and High Peak, and Blackley, who host Blackburn.
OLDHAM held a team-of-three Stableford and the trusty trio of Geoff and Brian Allen, and Barrie Robinson, led the way with 43 points.
Next were Keith Cowell, Mike Dunkerley and Jack Roberts (42), and John Billington, Ray Buckley and Frank Lawrence (40).
STAMFORD Golf Club is offering free membership for six months for 50 new lady golfers, plus free PGA coaching and advice. For details contact Stamford professional Mark Smith on 01457 832126.
