Date published: 31 January 2014
NEW-LOOK Saddleworth Rangers step out for the first time in anger this season — in round one of the Tetley’s Challenge Cup.
Shane Tupaea’s side, which held on to its National Conference League Division One status by their skin of its teeth, welcomes Milford Marlins to Shaw Hall Bank Road tomorrow (kick-off 2.30pm).
A much-changed Rangers will take to the field. In contention for starting berths are former OIdham RL players Ian Sinfield and Dave Newton, ex-Waterhead stars Dale Lowe and Matt Fogarty and Adam Kirwan, who has returned to the club.
Utility player Scott Owen, who was on the academy books at Huddersfield Giants, is another fresh face.
This is Rangers’ first competitive match of 2014.
