Non-league football: YOUNGSTER Tom Pratt was the Mossley hero as he bagged the only goal of their Evo-Stik Division One North clash at fellow strugglers Prescot Cables.

On a mudbath pitch, Pratt struck the all-important goal in the 35th minute to hand the Lilywhites their second victory in 12 games. Mossley remain 16th in the table, but it lifted them 13 points clear of the drop zone.

Victory came at a price: defensive pair Charlie Anderson and Phil Drummond both limped off with injuries in the first half, so may be doubts for next weekend’s home clash against bottom team Ossett Albion.

IN the North-West Counties League First Division, CHADDERTON ground out a goalless draw at Daisy Hill.
But the point gained lifted Chaddy up to an impressive seventh place in the league standings.

They now face a frustrating fortnight’s wait until they are next in action, when they host Widnes Vikings on Saturday, February 15.

OLDHAM BORO didn’t play at the weekend. Instead Tony Mills’ side are due in action tonight when they host Atherton Collieries (7.45pm kick-off).
Having suffered four straight postponements, Boro haven’t kicked a ball in anger since the Boxing Day defeat at Chadderton. They have slipped to 15th place in the First Division table as a result.
