Ice-cool Lily nets dream GB call-up

GERMANY BECKONS . . . Royton ice hockey ace Lily Greaves.
Ice Hockey: ROYTON starlet Lily Greaves has earned a dream call-up to the Great Britain team for the International Ice Hockey Federation Women’s Under-18 World Championships in Germany.
Oldham Sixth Form College student Lily (17) is in the GB squad for the six-team round robin
tournament in Fussen at the end of March.
The other teams in the tournament will be hosts Germany, France, Slovakia, Norway and Switzerland.
Team GB’s opening game will be against Germany on the opening day.
Lily said: “I’m really excited to be going to Germany. This is the second year I’ve tried for selection, so I’ve finally made it. I’ve trained hard and tried my best to keep improving.
A former Royton and Crompton School pupil, Lily took up ice hockey when she ws 10. She currently plays for the Manchester Phoenix under-18s mixed team.
