FOOTBALL: A WIND-affected game at the Oldham Academy North 3G pitch saw Santos succumb to a disappointing defeat at the hands of Milton in Division One of the Lancashire and Cheshire League.
Santos got off to an unfortunate start as a result of defender Gary Kelly's accidental head wound, which took him off the pitch for treatment. While Kelly was away, a Milton corner was firmly headed home.
The setback set the tone for beleaguered Santos on a raw afternoon, with fellow strugglers Milton registering maximum points.
Santos secretary Ian Ward said: “Milton were the better team on the day and though the windy conditions didn’t help either side, they used them better.”
