SADDLEWORTH ‘A’, in third place, were too good for BAE in Division One of the Oldham and District Table Tennis League.
Larry Bainbridge bagged a treble, Ian McLean a double and Nick Mooney a single in a comprehensive 7-3 victory.
Smith, Bates and Vaughan were on the mark for BAE, who started the day in fourth spot.

Kim Lee excelled for the Moss, winning two and only losing 11-8 in the fifth game to Elliott.
The leading two sides in Division Two, Rosehill and Honeywell ‘C’, recorded big wins. Leaders Rosehill swept aside Honeywell ‘D’ 10-0, while Honeywell won 9-1 at Grotton ‘A’.
Saddleworth ‘A’ and Werneth ‘B’ registered 6-4 victories over Hollinwood ‘C’ and Uppermill ‘A’ respectively to keep the pressure on the high-fliers.
