TABLE TENNIS:
ANDREW Jackson pulled off a superb treble at the Oldham Closed Table Tennis Championships at Radclyffe Sports Centre.
The Glodwick ace beat Darren Lindley of Saddleworth in the seniors final, a cracking contest from which Jackson emerged a 13-11 winner in the fifth game, following scores of 5-11, 11-8, 7-11 and 11-9 in the first four.
Jackson overcame another Saddleworth player, Nick Mooney, in the over-40s section — and that too went all the way, with an 11-4, 7-11, 11-6, 10-11 and 11-3 scoreline.
He completed his treble in the doubles alongside club-mate Mark Ramsbottom — but they were pushed all the way after losing the first two games.
They beat Jeff Craighill (Glodwick) and Barry Elliott (right, Hollinwood) 8-11, 9-11, 11-3, 11-9, 11-9.
